MORAGA, Calif. — The nation’s top shooting team proved itself the best again Thursday, as the Saint Mary’s College men’s basketball team made its first nine shots of the game and never looked back while staying atop the West Coast Conference standings with a 78-62 win over Pacific at McKeon Pavilion.
The Gaels (15-2, 6-1 WCC) started the night on fire, going 15 for 18 (83.3 percent) from the field in the first half. They started the game a perfect 9 for 9 and made 11 of their first 12 shots, helping them get out to a 15-point advantage over the Tigers (4-12, 3-4 WCC) at 28-13.
