MELBOURNE – The Saint Mary's men's basketball team left the South Island of New Zealand on Wednesday afternoon and arrived in Melbourne, Australia for the second leg of their foreign tour.
The Gaels took a three-hour flight across the Tasman Sea and arrived to a cloudy, cold Melbourne in the afternoon. Saint Mary's will spend the next three days in Melbourne, playing two games, Thursday against Melbourne United and Friday against the Dandenong Rangers.
With the day off from games, the Gaels had a quick practice back in Christchurch before getting on the flight.
Once in Melbourne, the Gaels were able to catch up with some old friends over dinner.
