MORAGA, Calif. — Former Saint Mary's great Patty Mills will be participating in the NBA's 3-Point Contest. Mills will be the first Gael to ever take part in the 3-Point Contest, and is the first Australian-born player selected for the event.
Hailing from Australia, Mills played two impressive years for the Gaels from 2007-2009, electing to take part in the NBA Draft process after his sophomore season. His leadership and success here earned him his number being retired by the school in 2015.
His shooting and defense that have brought him success in the NBA was certainly on display at the collegiate level, as he averaged 16.
