NEW BRITAIN, Conn. — In a high-octane match on a cold, cloudy afternoon, the Saint Mary’s lacrosse team (1-4) fell to Central Connecticut State, 21-12 at Arute Field.
The Gaels accumulated 24 shots, with 23 on target. The Blue Devils totaled 42 shots with 31 on goal. SMC converted 1-of-5 on free position attempts, while CCSU totaled 4-of-5.
First year player Meg Sheehan saw her first action in goal, collecting 10 saves.
Offensively, the Gaels got a pair of hat-tricks from Jocelyn Lubert and Jillian Dunlap. Hanna Dalrymple and Claire Healy each notched a brace on the day.
