TUSCON, Ariz. – Joe Vranesh went on a tear in Spokane over the weekend, propelling the Gaels to a series victory over Gonzaga, and earning himself Collegiate Baseball National Player of the Week Honors.
The junior went 7-for-14 (.500) with seven RBI and three home runs including a grand slam in the series opener against Gonzaga. In the series victory, he recorded an on-base percentage of .533 and a slugging percentage of 1.143 (1.676 OPS). He is currently on a 12-game hitting streak and has reached base safely in 17-consecutive games. Vranesh leads the Gaels with 12 homers this season which is tied with Kevin Milam (2017) for the most home runs in a season since Troy Channing hit 15 in 2010.
