MONTEREY, Calif. — Saint Mary's finished in fourth place out of five teams in their first fall tournament of the season held at The Club at Pasadera.
After a strong opening day which saw them tied for second heading into the last round, the Gaels slipped a bit and shot 4-over on the day to fall to fourth. Saint Mary's finished ahead of BYU by 13 strokes and behind Pepperdine, the tournament winner, as well as Loyola Marymount and San Diego.
Ethan Ashbrook ended up as the team's leader at 4-under in the tournament and tied for 12th in the 41-golfer field.
