LA QUINTA, Calif. -- Sophomore Pavan Sagoo fired a 2-under par 69 and the Saint Mary's golf team sits in seventh place against a field of top college programs after the first day of competition at The Prestige at PGA WEST Monday.
As a team, Saint Mary's turned in a 7-over par 291 and sits one stroke behind West Coast Conference rival Pepperdine and three shots behind sixth ranked Duke University. No. 28 LSU leads the event after 18 holes with a 7-under par 277, while tournament co-host Stanford is in second place at 2-under par.
