MORAGA -- No matter what the future holds as far as Saint Mary's NCAA tournament future, nothing can take away the fact that the Gaels are just one win shy of claiming at least a piece of the West Coast Conference regular season title and the No. 1 seed in the WCC Tournament.
Who would have believed that from a program that didn't return a single starter, lost a couple of assistant coaches to head coaching jobs and went into the year without a single senior and six freshmen on the roster? Then again, Randy Bennett's long, impressive track record as Saint Mary's coach suggests such unlikely achievements are not only possible but highly probable.
