MORAGA, Calif. - Sophomore right fielder Diego Castellanos broke out for a career weekend in the Gaels opening series with Saint Louis, recording a team high eight hits and scoring seven runs as they took three games from the Billikens. Castellanos played in just eight games last season primarily as a pinch runner, but got the start in all four games this past weekend and currently leads the team with a .615 batting average (8-for-13).
Adding to a memorable weekend for the Morgan Hill native, Castellanos also belted his first career home run in the series finale on Sunday.
