HONOLULU – After a 3-1 start at the Queen's Cup, the Gaels (7-5) dropped both their semifinal and bronze medal match to Boise State (11-6) and Pepperdine (6-6) respectively, 3-2 and 3-2. Saint Mary's fought hard in each of these contests, but were narrowly edged out by both the Broncos and Waves. The Gaels finished in front of Nebraska and Chaminade in the tournament.
The semifinal matchup featured a rematch from the tournament opener between the Gaels and Boise State Broncos. Head Coach Janice Harrer made a wrinkle in her lineup for the first time this season, pairing Paola Peralta with Cameron Martinez for the latter's season debut.
