SEATTLE — An important mid-season non-conference series continued Saturday between the Saint Mary’s baseball team and Washington, with the Huskies sweeping a doubleheader by scores of 3-1 and 6-1 to take a 2-1 series lead at Husky Ballpark.
Nate Nolan posted back-to-back multi-hit games Saturday (4 for 8 overall) after striking out four times in each of his previous three games. Joey Fiske extended his hitting streak to six games, including his fifth straight multi-hit game in the opener.
Saint Mary’s (22-14) will go for the series split on the road at the Pac-12 member Huskies (21-14) in the series finale Sunday.
