Four Saint Mary’s seniors playing in their final home games as Gaels Sunday combined for five hits, four RBIs and two runs scored as the Gaels defeated Pepperdine 6-4 on Senior Day and clinched the program’s first-ever berth in the West Coast Conference Tournament.
The Gaels (27-22, 15-9 WCC) can finish no worse than fourth place in the conference after Sunday’s win, guaranteeing them a place in the four-team WCC Championship Tournament, to be held May 26-28 at Banner Island Ballpark in Stockton.
