BSB | Santa Clara Wins Battle of Offensive Outbursts

SANTA CLARA, Calif. — A flurry of 19 runs on 17 hits in just 1 1/2 innings drastically changed what was a scoreless contest early on Sunday, and when the dust finally settled it was Santa Clara who avoided a sweep at the hands of Saint Mary’s with a 13-9 win in the finale of a three-game West Coast Conference series at Stephen Schott Stadium.

The two teams combined for 22 runs on 27 hits while also leaving 19 other runners on base. A total of 13 pitchers were used in the game, which lasted 3 hours, 36 minutes.
