MORAGA, Calif. — The sun shined down on Moraga Friday, but the San Diego offense outshined that of the Gaels, as the Saint Mary's baseball team dropped game one of a three-game series 8-2 at Louis Guisto Field.
Eddie Haus and Brett Rasso continued to produce for Saint Mary's (28-17, 11-8 WCC) as they have all season with four hits between the two of them, but San Diego starting pitcher Nick Sprengel shut down the bulk of the Gaels' offense.
“Their pitcher and hitters were better than ours,” Gaels head coach Eric Valenzuela said.
