MORAGA, Calif. — Saint Mary’s Nate Nolan knew exactly what to look for Friday when he stepped to the plate in the bottom of the ninth, the Gaels trailing by a run and already two outs on the board. And when he saw it, he took care of it.
Nolan drove the first pitch he saw from Gonzaga’s Hunter Wells over the right-center field wall for a game-winning two-run home run, handing Saint Mary’s a 6-5 victory over the Bulldogs in the second game of their three-game West Coast Conference series at Louis Guisto Field.
