BSB | Gonzaga Avoids Sweep With Win In Series Finale

MORAGA, Calif. — Eli Morgan threw a complete game and Gonzaga avoided a sweep at the hands of the Saint Mary’s baseball team Saturday with a 7-1 win in the finale of a three-game West Coast Conference series at Louis Guisto Field.

The Gaels (13-9, 4-2 WCC) still earned the series victory with wins in games one and two on Thursday and Friday. It was the Gaels’ first series win over the Bulldogs (12-9, 3-3 WCC) since 2011, and their first at home over Gonzaga since 2006. Saint Mary’s has now won its first two WCC series for three consecutive seasons – all three years of head coach Eric Valenzuela’s tenure – after having not done so since 1992.
