BERKELEY, Calif. — Saint Mary's Baseball (19-11) picked up another signature non-conference win, shutting down the Cal Bears (16-14) 6-1 on Tuesday night in Berkeley. It was the fifth time this season that the Gaels pitching staff combined to surrender one or fewer runs against an opponent in what was a dominant performance.
Ryan Sanders earned the start on the hill, and worked three scoreless innings of one hit baseball. Sanders only issued 39 pitches in the outing, and could be available for the Gaels conference series with LMU this weekend. He exited the game with a 2-0 lead, thanks to Coleman Schmidt and Aiden Taurek.
