MORAGA, Calif. — The Saint Mary’s baseball team rallied late once again Tuesday, this time breaking a pitchers’ duel with back-to-back rallies in the sixth and seventh innings to defeat visiting Nevada, 6-1, at Louis Guisto Field.
The Gaels (9-6) put their first two batters on base in both the sixth and seventh innings to get the rallies going against Nevada (5-11). Leadoff singles by Zach Kirtley and Joey Fiske in the sixth led to two runs after a Wolfpack balk and an RBI single by Jackson Thoreson. And after Anthony Gonsolin and Austin Piscotty singled to lead off the seventh, Nate Nolan’s third home run of the season capped a four-run inning that gave Saint Mary’s a 6-0 lead.
