STOCKTON, Calif. — The Saint Mary’s baseball team clinched its fourth straight West Coast Conference series victory Sunday, splitting a doubleheader against Pacific with a 10-inning, 9-4 win in game one before falling 6-2 in the nightcap at Klein Family Field.
For the first time in nearly four decades, Saint Mary’s (18-11, 8-4 WCC) has won its first four conference series. The last time the Gaels opened conference play with four straight series wins was 1977 in the Northern California Baseball Association.
After Sunday, Saint Mary’s sits one game out of first place behind Gonzaga and BYU.
