DURHAM, N.C. — Saint Mary's baseball's Kevin Milam earned his sixth All-American award Monday for his breakout rookie campaign with the Gaels in 2017, being named a first team Freshman All-American by Baseball America.
Monday's honor from Baseball America adds to a plethora of awards he already received from nearly every major college baseball media outlet. He was twice named an overall All-American third teamer (Collegiate Baseball Newspaper, D1Baseball.com) and has been named a first-team Freshman All-American four times (Collegiate Baseball Newspaper, NCBWA, Perfect Game, Baseball America).
Milam was the Gaels' leader at the plate and in the bullpen in 2017, helping Saint Mary's to its most wins (37) since 1977 and a second straight berth in the West Coast Conference Tournament.
