MORAGA, Calif. — Speed, defense and contact highlight a deep outfield for the Saint Mary’s baseball team in 2017.
The Gaels return two of their three primary starting outfielders from a year ago. They also welcome five freshmen outfielders to give the position an influx of depth not seen last year. In total, Saint Mary’s boasts 10 different players that have or can play in the outfield.
Joey Fiske started all 58 games in center field during 2016. Edward Haus played primarily in left field but will make the shift to right field in 2017, replacing now-departed senior Anthony Gonsolin.
