MORAGA, Calif. — Gaels' women's soccer forward Kaytlin Brinkman has been named the Saint Mary's Student-Athlete of the Week for the period of Sep. 2-8 for helping the Gaels sweep their matches against California Baptist and Wagner.
Brinkman tallied her first career goal against California Baptist in the 65th minute which proved to be the game-winner in the team's 2-1 victory. The sophomore beat a Lancer in a sprint for the ball and finished her shot to the right corner while falling with her left foot.
In the Gaels' impressive 6-1 win over Wagner, the forward got SMC off to an early lead with a rocket from close range in the eighth minute.
