MORAGA, Calif. — Due to inclement weather earlier this week, Saint Mary's (17-11) and Grand Canyon (16-14) were forced to play a Saturday doubleheader as part of their four game set this weekend. In a seven inning game one of the twinbill, then Gaels offense erupted for a 10 run second inning, riding the wave to a 12-10 victory. Game two, a nine inning contest, was an absolute pitcher's duel that saw the Gaels keep the Lopes off the scoreboard through seven innings, but a late rally earned GCU the victory 3-2. Saint Mary's will look to polish off the series victory tomorrow, while GCU will do their best to try and salvage a split.
