MORAGA, Calif. – The Saint Mary's Baseball Program has announced it is retiring the jersey numbers of two members of the SMC Athletics Hall of Fame, in Mark Teahan and Corbin Burnes.
Mark Teahen's number 10 will be retired after playing for Saint Mary's from 2000-02, and finishing his collegiate career as the all-time leader in batting average at SMC. He was selected with a supplemental first-round pick (39th overall) in the 2002 MLB Draft by the Oakland Athletics. His selection was even featured in the book Moneyball by Michael Lewis.
