GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Saint Mary's Baseball dropped the rubber match against No. 4 Florida, as the Gators won game three 10-0. The Gaels took Florida to extras in game one's 12-11 loss and defeated the Gators 9-7 in game two, before two-way star Jac Caglianone quieted SMC's bats in the finale.
Starter pitched a scoreless first before Florida plated a pair in the second on a two-run double. Three walks and two hit batsmen led to part of the trouble for Reitz on the day, though he did strike out five batters over 3.2 innings.
After a scoreless third inning, a two-out, bases-loaded single scored two more runs to put Florida up 4-0 in the fourth and chase Reitz from the game before got the final out of the fifth.
