EUGENE, Ore. – In a back-and-forth series opener which saw the Gaels come from behind in the ninth to tie the game, the Oregon Ducks managed to walk off with a sacrifice fly to secure the first win of the series.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Saint Mary's threatened in the second and third, sending runners to third base in both innings. However, it was not until the top of the fifth when the Gaels were able to break the scoreless tie: SMC got the rally going with two outs when junior Joe Vranesh singled to right field.
