MORAGA, Calif. – Saint Mary's took an early lead against BYU, but the Cougars took over from there and won 12-2 over the Gaels on Friday afternoon at Louis Guisto Field.
The Gaels jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the second inning when walked with one out. singled on a line drive off of the second base umpire and sent a hot shot down the left field line that the third baseman couldn't handle to drive in for the Gaels the first run of the game. That was followed by bloop single into right field to score Espinoza and it was 2-0 SMC.
