In the misspent weekends and summers of my youth, I could often be found at Pro Sports in Sunrise Mall. They carried jerseys, hats, and (most importantly) posters. NBA posters covered my walls, and there was nothing better than a poster of a nasty dunk being thrown down. These days I hear that Pro Sports has closed, and posters aren’t as important as they once were thanks to the ease of access to video. You no longer need a poster to commemorate a dunk when you can watch it endlessly online. The last remaining trace of the once important poster is the term “posterize”.
