Two years ago the Sacramento Kings traded DeMarcus Cousins to the New Orleans Pelicans in the midst of All-Star weekend (in the middle of the All-Star Game, in fact). Now, as we enter All-Star weekend, Dell Demps has been fired as GM of the Pelicans. At the time of the trade, the Pelicans were widely counted as the winners. Vlade made his now-infamous statement about having a better deal two days ago, and in the days that followed Vlade said he would step down if the Kings weren’t in a better place in two years.
