It’s official: Sacramento will have the 12th pick in the 2020 NBA Draft.
The last time the team selected at no. 12 was in 2008, when the Kings picked Jason Thompson. Thompson ended up spending seven years in Sacramento, and is eighth in franchise history in games played at 541.
The Kings entered the draft lottery with the 12th-best odds of earning the number one pick and a 6.1% chance of jumping into the top four, per Tankathon. Their most likely outcome (86.1%) was keeping the 12th pick, which is what ended up happening.
