The Sacramento Kings are in a unique spot compared to their peers. Free agency began on July 1, and the cap space available for free agents was thin. Now the money has almost dried up entirely.
Only five teams have cap space available to use now. That means the remaining free agents on the market are looking at small, short-term deals.
Kings in the driver’s seat
The Kings have about $19.5 million to spend, though. Sacramento has second most money available in the NBA. They also have 13 players under contract meaning two roster spots are left to fill plus both two-way contracts.
