The Kings did not start the game well. In the first quarter, the purple and white shot just 37.5% from the floor and turned the ball over three times which resulted in them trailing the Mavericks 25-20 after one. Sacramento did a better job on offense in the second, but they still trailed 53-45 going into halftime.
Sacramento opened the second half struggling as their offense had trouble putting the ball in the bucket. In the first ten minutes of the third, the Kings shot just 39% from the floor. Fortunately for the Kings, they were able to go on a scoring run to end the third which had them trailing just 75-70 going into the fourth.
