Continuing to add backcourt depth, the Kings announced that the team claimed 6-foot-5 guard Lamar Patterson off waivers from Atlanta.
Patterson was on hand at the Kings Summer League finale, watching and cheering his new teammates on. He spoke to media at halftime of the contest, discussing his optimistic approach toward the waiver procedure.
“When one door closes another one opens and it’s just a process you got to go through,” said Patterson. “I’m going to enjoy it, I’m going to work my butt off.”
Patterson played in 35 games last season for Atlanta, averaging 2.
