The Sacramento Kings’ developmental pipeline officially moved west Tuesday night when the Stockton City Council unanimously approved a contract to house the team’s G-League affiliate.
The Stockton Kings (née Reno Bighorns) will play their home game at Stockton Arena next season, beginning a three-year commitment to keep the organization’s minor league team in the Central Valley.
Sacramento announced its intent to relocate the Bighorns to Stockton last Monday, but didn’t offer a new name at the time.
The Kings and city of Stockton signed a lease and letter of intent last week, both of which became public ahead of Tuesday’s City Council meeting.
