The Kings just missed out on winning the NBA draft lottery Tuesday at Palmer House Hilton and will have the second overall pick in next month's draft.
The Atlanta Hawks won the lottery. The Phoenix Suns, who had the best chance at the top pick, will select third.
The Kings — represented in Chicago by point guard De'Aaron Fox, who at No. 5 was Sacramento's top pick last year — entered the lottery in the seventh slot after losing a coin flip with Chicago after both teams finished 27-55 this season. However, Sacramento was drawn into the top three.
