The Los Angeles Lakers and Luke Walton have mutually agreed to part ways, according to reports. Walton coaches three years for the Lakers, but was seen as being on the hot seat most of the year after the Lakers added LeBron James. Normally we don’t cover Lakers coaching moves, but Walton was already rumored as a candidate for the Sacramento Kings head coaching position even before he officially became available.
Sam Amick reports that Walton is Vlade’s top candidate and that the Kings will reach out to Walton soon.
As expected, source tells @TheAthletic that Kings GM Vlade Divac will now reach out to Luke Walton to schedule an interview now that his Lakers days are done.
