Pulling no punches, Georgios Papagiannis’ agent quickly slammed the Kings’ decision to waive the 20-year-old center on Thursday, amid a flurry of NBA trade-deadline activity.
Marios Olympios told Greek sports radio station Sport FM that dropping Papagiannis was a “mistake,” and that he “never got a real chance” with the team, EuroHoops reported Friday. Olympios suggested that multiple trips back and forth between Sacramento and the Kings’ G League affiliate in Reno was a detriment, but that Papagiannis succeeded in spite of it.
But Olympios wasn’t done roasting the Kings, who entered Friday second-to-last in the Western Conference standings at 17-36.
