Kings' esports team tips off first NBA 2K season May 1. Time to stretch those wrists | The Sacramento Bee

The NBA finally offered some specifics Friday on the schedule, number of games and tournaments, as well as postseason play for its brand new NBA 2K League.

As they say: Esports is swiftly evolving.

The 17-team video gaming league opens May 1 and consists of a 15-week regular season, including both league and tournament play. Playoff seeding is determined by the regular-season final standings. The postseason begins August 17 and continues for two weeks, with the quarterfinals featuring single-elimination play, and the semifinals and finals expanding to a best-of-three format.

For those who might have missed this, UFC Hall of Famer and UC Davis graduate Urijah Faber has joined Kings Guard Gaming (KGG), the Sacramento franchise.
