On this day 30 years ago, the Kings played their first ever regular season game in Sacramento.
Thomas Neumann of ESPN recently documented this historic date in Sacramento Kings history, recalling the team’s past while Sacramento gets ready for the future in Golden 1 Center.
The Kings faced off against the Los Angeles Clippers in their first game in Sacramento, the same team which they will face this coming Wednesday to open the 2015-16 season.
The original ARCO Arena located on North Market Blvd. in Sacramento, Neumann noted, held a capacity of just 10,333 with the furthest seat being a mere 130 feet away from the court.
