Marvin Bagley III outplayed rookie counterpart Luka Doncic to lead the Kings to a 116-100 victory over the Dallas Mavericks on Thursday night at Golden 1 Center.
Buddy Hield scored 29 points for the Kings (35-36), who bounced back after blowing a 28-point lead in Tuesday’s loss to the Brooklyn Nets. Bagley finished with 22 points, 12 rebounds and four blocked shots, making 8 of 16 field-goal attempts and 2 of 4 from 3-point range.
Doncic, the leading candidate for NBA Rookie of the Year, posted 13 points, 10 rebounds and three assists, for the Mavericks (28-44).
