Kings guard Buddy Hield’s chance to advance in the Skills Challenge came down to his signature shot.
But he missed the 3-pointer, and Brooklyn Nets guard Spencer Dinwiddie made his attempt to eliminate Hield in the first round. Dinwiddie would go on to win the competition as part of All-Star Saturday Night at Staples Center. He defeated Chicago big man Lauri Markannen in the final.
Hield is proficient at 3-point shooting, but not as much at dribbling and passing – the other skills featured in the competition.
He said Kings assistant coach Jason March gave him some pointers.
