Long before he stepped foot inside the Kings practice facility and changed into a reversible No. 40 jersey, Harrison Barnes recognized a familiar winning recipe in Sacramento: pace, efficiency and unselfishness.
“The style they play is fast and free, with (De’Aaron) Fox leading the charge (and) pushing it up the floor,” he said. “How (I see myself) fitting in, is trying do a lot of those same things. Play fast, play free, move the ball, compete defensively, and hopefully, (I) can give a boost to a team that’s right there.”
The former North Carolina Tar Heel is only two games into his Kings tenure, but so far, he’s checking off each of those boxes and playing a complementary role that accentuates both his and his teammates’ strengths.
