Sacramento, Calif. – Today, the Sacramento Kings and Sacramento First Community Advisory Council (Sacramento First) released a progress report on efforts to ensure strong economic and community benefits from Golden 1 Center (G1C) construction. Highlights of the report included:
- 78 percent in construction contracts – worth $280 million – awarded to local companies (original goal was 60 percent).
- 21 percent in construction contracts – worth $76 million – awarded to local small businesses (original goal was 15 percent).
- 92 high-need individuals connected to priority apprentice opportunities: 39 dispatched to G1C, and the project is on track to beat the original goal of 70 priority workers.
