Frank Mason III was one of the most decorated prospects in his 2017 Draft class, due to his National College Player of the Year award and multiple first-team accolades. He was a bit undersized and there were questions about how his game would translate to the NBA. But the Sacramento Kings used the 34th overall pick to select Mason in the second round.
That 34th pick originally belonged to the New Orleans Pelicans, who sent it to Sacramento in the DeMarcus Cousins trade.
Mason got his contract and made the team, then averaged 19 minutes per game in 52 appearances.
