Sound defensive play highlighted the opening quarter as Cousins dominated the boards, grabbing five rebounds and guiding the U.S. to a narrow 19-15 advantage.
While Team USA carried its defensive intensity into the second frame, Serbia was unable to match, allowing 33 points en route to a 23-point halftime advantage for the Americans. At the break, No. 12 had secured a double-double with 11 points and 12 rebounds in just 10 minutes.
