On Wednesday afternoon we had a chance to connect with Jason Thompson from his youth basketball camp in Rocklin, California. Little did we know that he would be traded hours later, ending the run of the franchise’s longest tenured player.
Throughout his seven seasons with the Kings, Thompson worked tirelessly in the community. He personally paid for approximately 1000 campers to attend his camps during his time in Sacramento and even bussed them in from around the region.
Unlike many players in the league, Thompson plays an active role in his camps and not only teaches basketball basics, but focuses on nutrition and healthy eating as well.
