Per Marc J. Spears of Yahoo! Sports, "the Sacramento Kings are in “serious back-and-forth” discussions with former NBA head coach George Karl about their coaching position, a source told Yahoo Sports on Saturday."
The Kings are currently in discussions with Karl's representatives, according to Spears' source, with Sacramento's recent swoon (losing 10 of 11 and 18 of 24 since Michael Malone was fired) acting as the impetus for the team to turn tail and perhaps replace interim head coach Tyrone Corbin.
As reported by Spears, "Karl has professed to the Kings that he would concentrate solely on coaching and not front-office moves, a source said. He has also told the Kings that he is a huge fan of All-Star center DeMarcus Cousins."
Spears adds that the Kings are also concerned that the Magic will come calling to Karl about their coaching vacancy, so it's possible Sacramento acts quick.
The legendary coach has a 1131-756 overall record as an NBA coach, landing him sixth all-time in overall victories as a head coach.
