Mike and the Mad Dog didn't spend much time discussing Rutgers during 19 years together on WFAN, but the school was name-dropped Thursday night in the debut of a documentary discussing the duo's history.
Why?
As the much-anticipated ESPN "30 For 30" series film detailed, Mike Francesa and Chris "Mad Dog" Russo endured roller-coaster highs and lows in their personal friendship during their time as afternoon drive-time partners on the No. 1-rated sports talk radio program from 1989-2008.
But one of the breaking points came in 2007, when WFAN fired morning talk show host Don Imus and Russo inquired about taking over the morning show either as a tandem or on his own.
