Every Rutgers fan knows where the Scarlet Knights’ quarterback situation stands heading into the preseason: True freshman Artur Sitkowski, after a sensational spring, is the favorite to grab the job. But head coach Chris Ash wasn’t ready to give him the job exiting the spring, so there is a declared competition between Sitkowski, incumbent redshirt freshman Gio Rescigno and sophomore Johnathan Lewis. But things are definitely trending Sitkowski’s way.
Which brings us to a talking point that’s been heard in some corners and makes us scratch our head: The idea Rutgers should slow-play naming Sitkowski the starter because it has to play at Ohio State in the second weekend of the season.
