It sounds like Rutgers' quarterback situation remains a two-man equation, if that.
Head coach Chris Ash praised sophomore quarterback Johnathan Lewis during the weekly Big Ten coaches teleconference Tuesday, but said nothing to suggest Lewis could be in line to see more playing time or push for the starting job.
"Right now, Johnathan has been third on the depth chart," Ash said. "Johnathan has done a great job. He's always prepared himself to be ready for an opportunity ... if it's presented for him to go into the game. We absolutely love Johnathan, his selflessness and desire to be a great teammate and help the others around him.
